Valentines day is just around the corner. While some may be busy planning dinners to classy restaurants with wine and ordering flowers and chocolates, my idea of a perfect valentines day is cuddling up to my partner and nibbling on some cheese popcorn.
There is nothing better than wearing pyjamas, sitting at home cuddling while watching the movie of your choice. So here’s the list of all the movies to be watched this Valentines day.
Pretty Woman is a 1990 romantic comedy starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. The story is about a Hollywood Hooker Vivian (Julia) who is hired by a rich businessman Edward (Richard) to be his escort for several business and social functions and later falls in love with her. This is one of the most sweetest and open- hearted movie.
Sweet Home Alabama
This 2002 romantic comedy movie is about a small town girl Melanie, Reese Witherspoon who moves to a big city New York and becomes a Fashion Designer. She falls in love with the son of the Mayor and is about to get married. She flies back to her hometown Alabama only to reveal she been married to a local boy for years who is not ready to divorce her. When things don’t turn out the way she planned them, she realises that what she had before in the south was far more perfect than the life she had in New York City.
50 First Dates
The movie is set up in Hawaii where veterinarian Henry, Adam Sandler meets a girl Lucy, Drew Barrymore and fells in love with her. The only problem here is she has short term memory loss so she relives the same day over and over again. Henry has to concoct new and increasingly clever ways to meet her and get her to fall for him every day. This movie bring laugh and is a chick flick which anyone can enjoy.
Leap Year is a 2010 romantic comedy movie featuring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode. the film is about a woman who heads to Ireland to ask her boyfriend to accept her wedding proposal on leap day, when tradition supposedly holds that men cannot refuse a woman’s proposal for marriage. Her plans are interrupted by a series of increasingly unlikely events and are further complicated when she hires a handsome Irish innkeeper to take her to her boyfriend in Dublin.
This 1999 movie is our absolute favourite. A travel book store owner Willaim Thacker, played by Hugh Grant in Notting Hill falls for an extremely popular American actress Anna, Julia Roberts. Eventually, Anna and William get to know each other better over the months, but being together with the world’s most wanted woman is not easy – neither around your closest friends, nor in front of the all-devouring press.
10 things I Hate About You
This is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew” set in a Tacoma, Washington high school. Bianca played by Larisa Oleynik, a beautiful high school sophomore, longs for a social life. But her father will not let her date until her older sister Kat, Julia Stiles does. This movie has some appealing performances and funny dialogues and your heart might skip a beat when when Heath Ledger sings “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” at the soccer field.
How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a 2003 romantic comedy film starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. The movie is about Andie (Kate) a young journalist who works for a magazine and is asked to win and then drive away a man in a mere ten days. On the other hand Ben (Matthew) is asked by his boss to make a woman fall in love with him in ten days. As luck would have it they choose each other for their mutual assignments.
The movie revolves around Margaret Tate played by Sandra Bullock and her assistant Andrew Paxton, Ryan Reynolds. Margaret may face deportation due to her expired visa but determined to retain her position as editor in chief of a publishing house she forces her assistant Andrew to act as her fiance.
What Happens in Vegas
This is another quirky and hilarious movie. After a wild night in Vegas, Jack Ashton Kutcher, and Joy Cameron Diaz end up getting married and winning a huge jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. Unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money, later falling in love along the way.
My Best Friend’s Wedding
This one is an oldie but its totally fantastic. Michael played by Dermot Mulroney and Julianne Julia Roberts, have been friends for years but when Michael rings Julianne to tell her he is getting married to a lady called Kimberly, she becomes jealous and tries to break off the wedding.
